Youtube EDU was implemented by Google/Youtube to allow schools the ability to open up filtered Youtube for staff and students and not have to worry about inappropriate content. In doing so many appropriate videos get blocked. This tutorial will show you how to bypass the restricted Youtube EDU Filters for unrestricted Youtube as a staff member. You as a staff member can also approve videos that are blocked so students can access them if they are signed into Youtube as their GoScotties account.

- Open your browser and browse to www.youtube.com
- In the upper right hand corner of the page click the blue ‘Sign In’ button.
- Open your browser and browse to www.youtube.com

- Enter your Goscotties (Gmail) credentials:
- Enter email address:
- jdoe@goscotties.com
- Click the ‘Next’ Blue button
- Enter GoScotties (Gmail) password:
- Click ‘Next’ to Sign In
- Enter GoScotties (Gmail) password:
- Click the ‘Next’ Blue button

- Enter email address:
- Enter your Goscotties (Gmail) credentials:

- You are now logged onto Youtube without filters and can find any video you are looking for if the Youtube EDU filters had blocked it.
- Step #4
- If you have students doing a presentation or need access to a video that is blocked by Youtube EDU you will need to approve the video so students can view it under their own personal GoScotties account.
- To approve videos you must sign into your GoScotties account. (Steps 1-3). Under each Youtube video is an ‘Approve’ button. The Approve button will approve the video for students logged into their GoScotties Account in youtube. If a student is not logged into the GoScotties account in youtube then they will not see approved videos.
